A Therapeutic Foot Treatment with Many Health Benefits
Reflexology is much more than a fancy foot rub. It is an alternative health treatment that involves applying pressure and massage to our body’s reflex points on the feet and lower legs, in order to trigger a physical response in the body. Although it is the best foot massage you’ll ever experience, it’s based on the principle that every single part of the body, including internal organs and body systems, are linked to a corresponding reflex point in the feet, hands, and face. Stimulating these reflex points will therefore relax the body and enable it to heal itself. On a more basic level, the relaxing effect of reflexology can help with managing stress and anxiety, which many health experts believe is related to a number of illnesses.

What to Expect
When done properly, reflexology treatments are incredibly relaxing with no pain whatsoever. Your first session will start with a review of your medical history to ensure that every patient receives the most beneficial treatment possible. In the case of certain preexisting medical conditions, reflexology may not be a good fit.
Reflexology sessions can last anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on the patient’s needs. You can talk or rest during the treatment—you may even fall asleep. Some patients have reported feeling a lightness or tingling in the body, as well as perspiration in the feet, loose or relaxed muscles, thirst, sleepiness, or laughing. Keep in mind that every individual’s body will react differently.
